i know the Final Fantasy titles are confusing cause they all have numbers but actually they are all completely different story..the thing u have to understand is that the creator of Final Fantasy had huge financial problems(before Final Fantasy was created) because his previous attempts to make other fantasy games before Final Fantasy..so in 1987 with only alittle bit money left for one more attempt at another game, and what he thought was going to his last game(hence the name, 'Final' Fantasy). It was a huge success and becuz of its success there had to be a Final Fantasy 2..so..i didn't think the creator want to make sequels cause he said he liked creating stories alot..there are always the same monsters and magic skill in every Final Fantasy but not the same characters, storyline, plot or universe;world. You may have to get use to the active time battle cause it may be confusing at the start(i was confused when I played Final Fantasy 8 the first time) other then that ull love the storyline..every FF has an amazing story
