How can i find a video game tester job and how can i get games sent to me to test?

Question by masterchief_546: How can i find a video game tester job and how can i get games sent to me to test?
I am 16 and i am an experienced gamer. I was reading online about video game testing and was wanting to get a job. The thing is i live in a small town (Bowling Green,MO) away from major cities that would have the jobs. I have tried to get a job here but the economy is bad and no one will hire me. Any tips on how to get a video game testing job and how to get the games sent to me?

Do real research before you even claim to want that job -

You don’t get GAMES.

You usually don’t even get what would be considered a “game”

You get a part of a game, that you play REPEATEDLY, again and again.

Searching for errors and things that will lock up, or crash the game.

So you find it, you need to document what you did to get it, what time it happened in your playtime, special events that were going on.

And now you need to make it happen again.

and again

and document it more.

Submit it for that one error.

Repeat for the entire portionof the game you have.

Not to mention you might not get games you like, from hardcore shooters, to barbie pony adventure.

It sounds like a cake job,but more so it looks to suck…

To get a video game testing job, you would have to sign up with video game companies for such a job. They will usually require you to submit a short resumé or details of your experience with games.

The games are usually sent to you either through an online download or via a postal service.
