Why is Nintendo so Slow Releasing games on the Virtual Console?

Question by Mrs. BonBon: Why is Nintendo so Slow Releasing games on the Virtual Console?
just wondering is there a method to their madness? just seems like they are so slow to release games from all the previous systems?

they have less than 20 games on 64 released and i can think of a ton of classic Nintendo games that still havent been released?

Just wondering is Nintendo still planning on releasing ALL games eventually or are they only releasing certain games?

Thanks:)

Low demand means low priority.

Nintendo has switched it’s priorities to Wii-ware, as it is the big seller at the moment.

It’s also a marketing strategy. By keeping the number of games low, every time they release a new one you get all excited and buy it.

If they released, say, a hundred games at a time, the games would not be perceived as a commodity in the same way, and therefore probably would not sell as well.

This is about creating the perception of value. Yeah, it’s crap, and a bit cynical, but that’s big business for ya.

They spend their time more on Wii Ware now unfortunately, and as for any N64 games being released for the VC, it’s highly unlikely if it’s on low demand, and they do plan on releasing it, then they want to keep a lot of people in suspense, so more people will want that game to be released. It’s just business pretty much.
